A high school baseball pitcher who was critically injured during a game last month, left the hospital Monday.

Gunnar Sandberg was discharged from Marin General Hospital, where he had been in a medically induced coma.

He is going to need rehab, though, so he is moving to a facility in San Francisco.

His family released a photo of him on Monday.

The 16-year-old was hit by a line drive off a metal bat.

At least 10 schools in Marin County have now switched to wooden bats, which add less speed to the ball.
