Job seekers checked out opportunities with more than 40 employers at an event at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill.
East Bay Rep. John Garamendi's, D-Caif., office sponsored the job fair.
"People want to work, we need that; we need taxpayers, we've got far too many tax takers, people on unemployment insurance and the like," Garamendi said.
It also featured workshops on how making career changes, and looking for work after age 55.
