City crews worked late into Monday night to sandbag Via Verdi -- the only way into a neighborhood of about 100 homes.
One car fell into the giant sinkhole last Thursday when an underground storm culvert washed out. Residents say the city needs to do a better job monitoring the area.
"They should inspect every year. They should know that. Something like that they should have an idea what's going on. They need to do the job right," said resident Sodium So.
Crews are closely watching the situation -- pumping out any water that might cause new problems.
