IDs of Richmond shooting victims released

RICHMOND, CA

Lawrence Gadlin, 23, of Berkeley, Gerald Jackson, 34, of Richmond and Tony Albert, 51, of North Richmond all died from their wounds. The fourth shooting victim, who has not been identified, was treated at a hospital and released.

Capt. Steve Warne of the Sheriffs Investigations Unit says the shooting occurred sometime after 9 p.m. on the 1700 block of Truman Street. He said the four men were working on a car in front of a house when a red minivan pulled up. Witnesses say two men were seen in the vehicle.

Warne says multiple shots were fired. The victims were shot numerous times. One witness told ABC7, he heard at least 25 shots.

Police say the incident may be related to a prior shooting earlier in the day. No one was injured in that case. Warne says this may be gang related retaliation.

He says the minivan has been located but would not disclose where.

The last murder in North Richmond was March 25.
