In Berkeley, one person has been arrested and half a dozen people are waking up to some very bad news about their cars.

Overnight, a suspect slashed tires on cars along Durant Avenue, Dana Street and Bancroft Way.

In total six cars had their tires damaged and at least four of those cars had all four tires cut.

The suspect also managed to throw a newspaper stand onto the hood of a pickup truck.

Investigators say they'll look into whether the same man is responsible for a string of tire slashings in nearby Oakland. In late April at least 23 cars had their tires slashed there.
