Fourth graders in the Redwood City School District took a field trip to Red Morton Park for a morning of jumping, stretching, dancing and waving.
The annual event is called Make Time for Fitness, put together by Sequoia Hospital and the San Francisco Giants.
"Fourth graders, we feel is a great age to be feeling empowered, to make decisions for themselves, and what we want to do is give them the materials so that then they can make healthy decisions," Sequoia Hospital spokesperson Marie Violet said.
The event also highlighted the importance of healthy eating habits, staying active and being tobacco free.
