San Jose man makes threats against Chicago mayor

SAN JOSE, CA

Christopher Fox is in the Santa Clara County jail and San Jose police confirm they arrested him Thursday at the request of Chicago police

He is accused of threatening Chicago Mayor Richard Daley. He was apparently upset at the mayor's comments about that city's gun control law during a news conference that took place Thursday afternoon.

Fox apparently left a phone message at Daley's office, saying he was going to shoot and kill the mayor.

No one answered the door at his mother's home in the Almaden area of San Jose, which is where Fox also lives.

ABC7 learned Fox has had several run-ins with Santa Clara County authorities and was arrested in San Bernardino County for marijuana possession in 2006.

Fox is being held without bail.
