6.0-magnitude quake hits the Philippines

A 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck the region of Mindanao in the Philippines on Monday, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The strong quake rocked the Asian nation at approximately 3:16 a.m. PDT.

The quake was located 25 miles southwest of Cotabato, Mindanao and 570 miles southeast of Manila. The depth of the quake was measured at 20.5 miles.

There have been no immediate reports of deaths, injuries or significant damages and no tsunami alert has been issued at this time.

A 4.7-magnitude aftershock has been reported.
