Governor Schwarzenegger has appointed a well-known Republican to head the state's Fair Political Practices Commission. Dan Schnur was communications director for the John McCain presidential campaign 10 years ago and before that, for Governor Pete Wilson.
The Fair Political Practices Commission oversees all state and local election campaigns, and the 46-year-old promises to bring more transparency and honesty to the process.
