New library to open in downtown Walnut Creek

WALNUT CREEK, CA

The new energy-efficient building will replace the city's old library, which officials say is cramped and outdated. It will include a children's wing, a larger collection of books for teens and young adults, plus a separate area for music and movies.

There will be more than 90 computers, plus Wi-Fi access for laptops, and a business and career center. The new library opens to the public July 17.
