The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has unveiled the newest ship that will help take care of the San Francisco Bay. The multi-purpose command vessel John A.B. Dillard, Jr. was christened Friday at the Bay Model Visitor Center in Sausalito.

The Dillard's huge crane can remove debris from the water. It also can carry equipment to survey the bottom of the bay and assist during disasters.

The Dillard joins the "Raccoon" and the "Grizzly" in the Army Corps bay fleet.
