$200,000 in claims over 2009 Muni light rail crash

SAN FRANCISCO

Dozens of people were injured in the collision. The Examiner reports the city has already paid more than $200,000 in claims and more lawsuits are pending.

Last July, a Muni driver switched his light rail train from automatic control to manual control and then passed out causing his train to run into a parked train at 20 miles an hour.

Fifty-seven people have filed claims; only 16 have accepted settlements so far.
