Dead woman discovered at two-alarm house fire

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA

The fire was reported just before 6:30 a.m. at a two-story home at 1062 Crestwood Drive, according to fire officials. The first arriving firefighters found that the second story was engulfed in flames. They had the fire controlled roughly 20 minutes after their arrival, according to fire officials.

A middle aged female was found deceased in the second floor bathroom, according to fire officials.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but fire officials believe the fire originated in a second floor bedroom. One firefighter sustained a minor injury.

Preliminary damage estimates are $200,000 for structure and contents.
