Dogs involved in attack remain unclaimed

Two dogs involved in a vicious attack that injured in Golden Gate Park last week remain unclaimed and in the custody of San Francisco Animal Care and Control.

A male pit bull and a female mixed-breed were roaming the park early Thursday morning. the male attacked a 71-year-old woman requiring her to be hospitalized for leg bites.

The same dog also bit another woman who was treated at the scene and a man who was also hospitalized.

Police wound up shooting the pit bull but it survived.

Monday's San Francisco Examiner reports that, so far, nobody has come forward to claim ownership of the dogs.
