Walnut Brittle

Yields about 2 cups
Ingredients:
- 2 C walnuts, blanched and dried
- ¼ C plus 2 TBS light corn syrup
- 1/8 C sugar
- 1/8 tsp aleppo chile powder
- Sea salt to taste
Preheat oven to 325 F. Rough chop the walnuts then put into a sieve and shake to discard any dust. In a mixing bowl, combine all ingredients. Spread on a rimmed non-stick baking sheet. Using a rolling pin wrapped in plastic wrap or just your hand, pat the mixture down on the baking sheet to achieve a thin layer (about 1/8 " thickness). Bake for 30-45 minutes.
