The huge tower sections arrived in the Port of Oakland today after leaving from Shanghai, China last month.
The four shafts are about 150 feet tall and each weighs more than 1,400 tons.
The pieces will now be inspected before being moved onto a barge and to the construction site in the next few weeks.
The new eastern span is expected to open by the end of 2013.
