Kairu, an eland, was born on June 22. He has spent the last few weeks bonding with his mother.
Kairu is the second baby eland born at the zoo since it acquired two female elands back in the fall of 2009.
Both females were pregnant at the time, unknown to the zookeepers.
A female eland was born in April.
Right now, visitors can see Kairu at the zoo's African veldt exhibit from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
