Byron Williams' binder had "California" written on the cover, but up until now the public did not know much else. Thursday police said the notebook listed some locations and different groups without mentioning specific people. It also contained his ramblings.
Sunday morning, the California Highway Patrol tried to pull over the Tuolumne County man on I-580 in Oakland but ended up in a 20 minute gun battle with him.
Williams had three guns, including a rifle and shotgun and was wearing body armor.
Police say he was on his way to San Francisco to shoot people at the ACLU and the Tides Foundation.
