BART trains running again after man runs on tracks

SAN FRANCISCO

A male was observed on the tracks shortly before 9 a.m., BART spokesman Jim Allison said. He was seen running away from the Glen Park station toward Balboa Park.

Power to the tracks between the two stations was shut down for roughly 40 minutes, but trains began running between the stations again just after 9:40 a.m.

BART experienced residual delays following the closure, a BART dispatcher said. Service has since gone back to normal.

BART police had not found the male as of 10:20 a.m., Allison said.

He said it is possible the male made it to the Balboa Park station and got back on the train platform before being spotted by police.

Allison did not have any description of the male or information about why he might have been on the tracks.
