The one-alarm fire was reported at 12:26 p.m. in the area of Concord Avenue and Stanwell Drive, the dispatcher said. It was out by 12:41 p.m.
Flames scorched about half an acre near a homeless encampment, the dispatcher said. Firefighters were able to contain it before any structures were threatened or damaged. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
