The officer was attempting to reach an Alameda-Contra Costa Transit bus traveling along 23rd Avenue at about 10:25 a.m. because a passenger on that bus was a suspected wanted parolee, Oakland police Officer Holly Joshi said.
The police cruiser crashed into a van traveling in the 2400 block of 23rd Avenue, injuring the van's two occupants along with the officer, Joshi said.
