2 killed in two separate Oakland shootings

OAKLAND, CA

The first shooting happened downtown, near 13th Street and Broadway, at about 9:20 p.m.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired and found a 27-year-old man suffering from at least one gunshot wound, police said.

The man was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Less than an hour later, at 10:05 p.m., more gunshots were reported at 32nd and Adeline streets, police spokesman Officer Jeff Thomason said.

Police headed to that intersection but didn't find any victims.

But at 10:47 p.m., police received a report of a shooting victim in the 3400 block of Ettie Street, a few blocks from where the gunshots were reported.

There, they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not yet released the first victim's name and are still working to identify the second victim.

Anyone with information on either killing is asked to call the Police Department's homicide section at (510) 238-3821.
