SmartMeters may interfere with household devices

ABC7 media partner the San Jose Mercury News says it has received dozens of complaints about the devices reportedly interfering with baby monitors, cordless phones, patio speakers and wireless headsets.

According to the paper, PG&E admitted in a 2009 report to the Public Utilities Commission that it had found a limited number of cases of interference with consumer electronics when the meters transmit data back to the utility.
