Researchers at UC San Diego have found, children and teens who have had that particular virus are more likely to be obese. Fifteen of 19 children who had it were obese and on average, they weigh 35 pounds more than even other obese children without the virus.

Doctors suspect the virus helps make new fat cells.

The study is in Pediatrics Journal.
