Hispanic voters unmotivated to participate in election

SAN FRANCISCO

A just-released Pew Hispanic Center survey shows Hispanic voters seem unmotivated to cast ballots this November.

Only about half the registered Latino voters say they will definitely cast ballots, compared to 70 percent of total U.S. voters.

The poll also shows an advantage for Democrats with 65 percent of the Hispanic voters surveyed saying they lean toward the Democrats, whereas only 47 percent of the total U.S. voting population says they will vote democrat.

The issues most important to Latinos are education, jobs and healthcare.
