The move became necessary after a voter notified officials last Friday that a race had been left off his precincts ballot. Officials checked and found the mistake not only in that precinct, but in eight others as well. Nearly 3,000 voters were impacted by the mistake.
Officials are now mailing out new sample and absentee ballots. Ballots already sent in have been identified and set aside.
If a voter has already sent in one of the incorrect ballot it will be replaced when voters send in the corrected new ballot. If a new one isn't turned in, the old one will be counted.
