Fans flocking to San Francisco for the Giants victory parade Wednesday helped BART set a single day record.

The transit agency says it had more than half a million riders Wednesday. That shatters the old mark of 442,000 when the Bay Bridge was closed for repairs last year.

BART wasn't the only one facing huge crowds, Caltrain was so busy, at one point, it let riders on for free at some stations just to keep things moving.
