Marin DA objects to unsupervised parole

MARIN COUNTY, Calif.

Winnfred Wright iss scheduled to be paroled next Monday. He went to prison in 2003 for the death of one of his 13 children -- a 19-month-old boy who starved.

The state originally planned to let Wright out under a new money-saving program that requires no supervision, but Marin County's district attorney objected.

DA Ed Berberian says he understands that the state is trying to cut parole costs, but says public safety is more important.
