Distracted drivers top concern for Californians

A survey by the California Office of Traffic Safety found after speeding and aggressive drivers, distracted drivers are a top concern.

Fifty-five percent said they had been hit or nearly hit by a driver who was talking or texting on a cell phone.

Twenty-seven percent confessed they still talk on a hand held cell phone while driving, and 45 percent admitted they had made a mistake when talking or texting while behind the wheel.
