Report: Nurses association helped Whitman housekeeper

SAN FRANCISCO

One of the questions many have asked is how Nicki Diaz Santillian came forward to confront the former eBay CEO. According to Tuesday's San Francisco Chronicle, Diaz had the help of the Oakland-based California Nurses Association. The nurses' union director wouldn't deny the claim, but said she preferred not to comment.

The union spent millions of dollars campaigning against Whitman during the governor's race.

Diaz claimed she was not fairly compensated for the work she did for the Whitman family. Last week, Whitman and her husband agreed to pay her $5,500 in back wages.
