According to the San Francisco Chronicle a police technician ran a check on the Toyota Prius and found it had more than $1,000 in unpaid tickets.
The car is officially registered to Quan's husband.
There is no word yet on whether the tickets were paid, but the paper reports the boot was removed within hours.
