Contra Costa schools warned to make deeper cuts

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, Calif.

According to the San Jose Mercury News, Antioch, John Swett, Mt. Diablo, West Contra Costa and Byron districts are not meeting state requirements to keep their books balanced the next three years.

The district plans to unveil their revised three year plans next month.

School officials say they have been struggling with state budget cuts, declining enrollment and failed tax measures.
