At least that's what organizers of a charity benefit at San Francisco's DNA Lounge are looking for at tonight's event, when dozens of amateur air guitarists will strike a chord to raise money for toys and games for hospitalized children.
Last year, local video game veterans joined forces to create an annual charity concert called Umloud! -- the name itself a play on heavy metal's rock dots typography -- to benefit Child's Play Charity.
Fog machines and bright lights will set the stage for tonight's participants, who will have a chance to plug into the venue's sound system and rock out on "Rock Band 3."
Headlining the event is a band called Broasis, who will perform two songs by their English rock counterparts Oasis after winning an online fundraising auction that landed them in the spotlight for the evening.
Since 2003, more than 100,000 gamers worldwide have banded together to help raise over $6.7 million in donations for Child's Play, which provides toys and games to children's hospitals around the country, including Oakland Children's Hospital.
Tonight's 18-and-over rockstravaganza starts at 7 p.m. at DNA Lounge, located at 375 11th St. in San Francisco. Entry to the event is $10. All proceeds will be donated to Child's Play, according to organizers.
