Sacred Heart receives $14,000 check from bank

SAN JOSE, Calif.

When 6,000 people signed up for the food and toy program, staff were concerned that they wouldn't be able to help everyone this year.

The bank heard about the shortfall and stepped in with a check for the program.

"Really, when we're seeing organizations step up like this and companies step up like this, I think we feel really confident that we're going to be able to meet the needs of those that are coming to us right now," said Poncho Guevara from Sacred Heart Community Service.

The money will go towards 3,000 Christmas food boxes and 15,000 toys. Sacred Heart says the need has never been greater since a lot more people are seeking help for the very first time.
