A new study finds women who eat a lot of red meat are at increased risk for a stroke.

Swedish researchers found women who ate 3.6 ounces of red meat daily were 42 percent more likely to suffer a stroke due to blocked blood flow in the brain.

The study followed more than 34,000 women for 10 years. They ranged in age from 39 to 73 years old and all were free of cardiovascular disease at the beginning of the study.
