The cougar was seen at about 9:15 p.m. near 386 Raymundo Drive. The sighting marks the second big cat spotted in the town this month.
Residents who see a mountain lion are advised not to approach it, especially if the cat is feeding or with offspring.
The San Mateo County Office of Emergency Services recommends that people keep a close watch on small children and avoid hiking or jogging at dawn, dusk, or night, when the animals are most active.
