Room at airport evacuated after smoke sets off alarm

SAN JOSE, Calif.

Police responded to an alarm at the airport at about 10:55 a.m. and evacuated the area, but arriving firefighters canceled the evacuation, dispatcher Tracy Deitschman said.

No injuries were reported and the source of the smoke is still under investigation.

Firefighters had left the scene by 11:20 a.m., a dispatcher said.

An airport spokesman was not immediately available for comment.
