Claremont Hotel's new owners file for bankruptcy

The new owners of the Claremont Hotel filed for bankruptcy on Tuesday, one week after acquiring the Claremont and several other high-end properties in a foreclosure proceeding last week.

The move is the latest shake-up at the Claremont. Morgan Stanley purchased the 95-year-old resort four years ago, before the recession caused a free-fall in the tourism industry.

The new owners say the events will have no impact on the operations of the resorts, which will continue to provide the same uninterrupted level of luxury service and experience to guests, resort members and other customers.
