Judge won't release records in Dugard case

PLACERVILLE, Calif.

Media organizations had asked that the documents be unsealed. They include testimony in which Dugard describes her 18 years in captivity. The El Dorado County superior court judge ruled Monday morning that making the information public would jeopardize Phillip Garrido's right to a fair trial.

Garrido and his wife are charged with abducting Dugard, raping her, and holding her captive at their home near Antioch. The couple is expected to enter a plea Monday.
