Man pulled from burning vehicle parked in garage

DALY CITY, Calif.

Crews were dispatched at about 4 p.m. to a one-alarm fire at 68 Caroline Way, where they encountered smoke pouring from the garage, according to a news release by the North County Fire Authority.

Inside the garage, firefighters found the unresponsive man inside a burning vehicle, the fire authority said.

Firefighters simultaneously extinguished the vehicle and small garage fire as well as extricated the victim, and firefighter paramedics performed life-support measures at the scene, according to the fire authority.

The victim was transported to Seton Medical Center for further treatment, but the severity of his injuries was unknown.

The Fire Prevention Services bureau is currently investigating the fire.

According to the fire authority, the fire was prevented from spreading throughout the home partly due to an internal sprinkler system.

Six fire companies, two chief officers and one fire investigator responded to the fire.
