The southbound lane began crumbling nearly two weeks ago after heavy rain. A two-mile section of Highway 1 between Carmel and Big Sur is completely closed. Crews say it'll take at least a month to fix. A helicopter shuttle passengers at two locations in the Big Sur area. Flights are expected to cost $60 one-way.
