Tree with sudden oak disease found in SF
SAN FRANCISCO
It's one of the few native trees in the Presidio and scientists believe the tree was infected by an ornamental plant in the garden of a nearby home.
Scientists are troubled, because the finding means the disease escaped into the wild, despite an intense nation-wide effort to control it.
