One fire was at a house on Midvale Avenue and Arizona Street in Oakland's Dimond District. That fire started around 7 p.m. The victim who died was inside the home at the time of the fire and a second person was injured. The fire's cause is currently under investigation.
And in North Berkeley, large plumes of smoke billowed from a home on Sacramento Street at Cedar. The fire started around 7 p.m. and was contained to the one house. There are no reports of injuries and the cause is still under investigation.
