Monday, Oakland public works crews begin a four week blitz with the goal of filling more than 2,000 potholes.

To reach the goal the city is assigning eight pothole crews, twice the number normally assigned.

This week crews will focus on potholes in west Oakland.

Mayor Jean Quan says potholes are the number one maintenance issue identified at Oakland's town hall meetings.
