16-year-old from Alaska received heart transplantA 16-year-old from Alaska, Hannah Ahrens, waited months for a heart and finally received a heart transplant at Stanford.

PALO ALTO, Calif.

The first picture of 16-year-old Hannah Ahrens was released on Wednesday, looking rosy pink. ABC7 met Hannah a couple of months before she had the surgery May 4.

Her old heart had only one pumping chamber, instead of two, which caused her problems her entire life. Her family is from Alaska. She and her mom have been in the Bay Area for months, waiting for the transplant, staying at the Ronald McDonald House.
