Melissa Ross, 35, died after someone fired into her car along Ambler Way around 10:30 p.m. Saturday night.
A relative in her car, 20-year-old Richard Herrera, was also shot. Herrera was treated for his injury and released from the hospital.
Ross' family told the San Jose Mercury News that the shooter may have mistaken Ross and Herrera for someone else.
