SFPD issue warning after Craigslist related robberies

SAN FRANCISCO

On May 12, two San Jose residents agreed by e-mail to buy a used Honda Accord $4,500. They were told to drive to a dead-end street near Candlestick Park where they were robbed at gunpoint by two men wearing Halloween masks.

Then last Wednesday it happened again on University Street. Two masked robbers took $6,500 at gunpoint from a Fresno car buyer. Police say similar robberies took place last year in Oakland and are advising anyone who plans to buy off Craigslist to make sure they meet buyers only in well lit, well populated public places.
