2-year-old kidnapped during carjacking in Vallejo

VALLEJO, Calif.

The two-year-old girl was strapped into a car seat in the backseat of her father's car when he was driving southbound on Napa Street, near Alabama Street, at around 9:45 p.m.

A white car forced the victim's car to come to a stop. Two men got out of the car and pointed guns at the driver, Sgt. Kelly Schroeder said.

The suspects forced the man out of his car and ordered him to lie on the ground while one of the suspects drove away in the car, Schroeder said.

Schroeder said that the victim did not know the suspects but believe his car may have been targeted because it had "very flashy 26-inch rims."

About a half hour later, police received a call from a resident at 201 Springs Road who reported that a two-year-old girl had knocked on his door.

The victim's car was found abandoned in front of the resident's home.

Police believe the little girl let herself out of the car seat and knocked on a nearby door looking for help.

The girl was not injured during the incident, police said.

Both suspects were described as black men, around 22 years old, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, with medium builds.

The suspect who drove away with the car had shoulder-length dreadlocks with gold tips, Schroeder said.
