A car that was spotted going into the Oakland estuary early this morning has been removed from the water. Nobody was inside the vehicle.

Police and the coast guard were on the scene. Divers went into the water around 7 a.m. and used an inflation device to lift the car up. A couple reported seeing what looked like the trunk of a car sinking into the water off the Oakland Embarcadero about 2:30 Thursday morning.
