"All you can watch" movie pass didn't notify theaters

An "all you can watch" trial movie pass launched in the Bay Area this week has run into trouble.

AMC, the second largest U.S. theater chain says it wasn't consulted about the Moviepass service and won't be taking part. Landmark Theatres and Camera Cinemas are also refusing to honor the $50 monthly pass.

The beta test was arranged through ticketing companies not the theater chains.

Moviepass had been advertising the online service to start this weekend.
